Destigmatizing and Decriminalizing Mental Illness among People Experiencing Homelessness
Principal Investigator: Carson Bohl, MPH
About the Project
This project aims to better understand how people who are unhoused in Atlanta view mental health, what support they currently rely on, and what gets in the way of accessing care. Through in-depth conversations, we hope to learn directly from people with lived experience so we can identify what kinds of mental health services would actually feel safe, useful, and accessible. After gathering these insights, participants will help create an easy-to-share report for local leaders and service providers, ensuring their voices guide future programs and policies. Ultimately, the goal is to improve mental health support and help build care systems that respect and respond to the real experiences of people navigating homelessness.
